Beautiful Backgrounds... Beautiful Women

Waterhouse Women- Chapel Road Stamps
Hello to my wonderful blog friends...I created this card for my wonderful niece Allicia and I wanted to share it with you.  I started with plain white cardstock and distress inkpads.  I randomly put weathered wood, bundled sage & tattered rose on a non-stick craft sheet.  I lightly misted it, swirled it slightly with my finger to blur the pad lines and then laid my c/s on.  I pressed firmly and then lifted it away.  It was then spritzed lightly to create small droplets and set aside to dry.  When dry I took Impression Obsession's Cover a Card Craquelure stamp and inked it up with chipped sapphire Distress ink.  I stamped it over the background and then the whole piece was misted with Perfect Pearls bronze mist.  I punched the corners of the background paper with the southwest punch and then mounted it on a 6x6 piece of chipped sapphire Distress cardstock.

I then stamped the image- Waterhouse Women from Chapel Road stamps on white c/s using the chipped sapphire Distress ink also.  This was mounted on a piece of the same colour of c/s that was die cut from Spellbinders' Decorative Labels Eight, using the #3 die in the set and was then pop dotted onto the left side of the card.  The flourish is cut from the chipped sapphire Distress c/s using Heartfelt Creations Bella Rose die and the flower is also from Heartfelt Creations-Vintage Floret die. Here I used tattered rose Distress c/s which was then brushed with Tattered Angels' Glimmer Glaze in champagne.  I absolutely love love love this product and plan to show it to you in many more cards!!  The flower was molded to its shape with Paper Blossoms toolkit and molding mat.  It was pop dotted onto the card and a pearl from Want2Scrap was added to the centre. The front was attached to a 6x12 piece of tattered rose Distress c/s.  And the final finish was a small piece of white c/s stamped with the phrase I am Woman in chipped sapphire, glued under and image and 2 small pearls attached to either side of it.

I will be teaching the background technique I used to create this card  at Class Act Inc. in Oshawa, Ontario in February and this card is one of two that the students will be making.  If you would like to know about when I will be teaching, please click on the Class Act Inc. link.  The Waterhouse Women by Chapel Road is available from the Class Act website.  Be sure to spend some time there and send the owner, Carol, some love.

I hope you enjoyed this card and I look forward to showing you many more in the future....Sheree
